Charles E. Neubaum, 79, of 27 Salem Road, Chambersburg died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998 at VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, West, Va.
Born March 22, 1918 in Enhaut, Dauphin Co., he was the son of the late Fred G. and Mary A.
Millhime Neubaum.
He was a 1935 graduate of William Penn High School, Harrisburg and graduated from the Central Penn Business School, Harrisburg.
He was a retired senior master sergeant in the US Air Force for 22 years. He served in WW II and the Korean War and during the Vietnam era. He retired from active service in 1968. He also served as chief warrant officer for 10 years in the Air Force Reserves, worked in public relations for Hood-Light-Geise Advertising Agency, Harrisburg, and was the assistant state adjutant for the American Legion, 1970-1980.
Mr. Neubaum was a member of the King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg; life member of the Oscar M. Kykes American Legion Post 223, Shippensburg; Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Greencastle; Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Chambersburg; Atomic Veterans and the Chambersburg Club.
He is survived by his wife, Shelda K. Kell Neubaum of Chambersburg; one son, Gary Neubaum of Enola; one brother, Robert Neubaum of Lemoyne and one granddaughter, Allison B. Neubaum of Enola.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Lillian Shatzer Neubaum, in 1980 and a brother, William Neubaum.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg with the Rev. Dr. Paul B. Baker and the Rev. Lester F. Stine officiating.
Viewing will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Graveside services and burial will be Jan. 27 in the Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
